THE STUDIO EDITION
The Moot Point Studio Edition is a curated, ongoing series of artist releases.
Every few months, I introduce the work of a new artist from somewhere in the world — someone whose work feels thoughtful and not widely available in Aotearoa, New Zealand. Each release includes a small collection of prints, selected for their clarity, character, and production quality. The framing style changes with each artist, chosen to suit the work and presented as a cohesive set.
All prints are framed in-house to a conservation standard and arrive ready to hang. Sizes are intentionally kept small — considered in scale and practical to ship.
The Studio Edition is designed to make collecting art straightforward: considered artists, well-made prints, and framing that's tailored to each collection.

A FEW COMMON QUESTIONS
The Moot Point Studio Edition is a curated series of framed artworks released through regular artist drops. This FAQ explains what to expect and how the Studio Edition works.
ABOUT THE PRINTS
-
We’re curating a collection of contemporary prints from artists around the world — pieces you won’t find elsewhere in New Zealand. Everything is selected for strong visual impact, print quality, and longevity. All prints arrive framed in‑house, ready to hang.
-
All prints are open edition. This keeps the collection accessible and affordable while still maintaining a high standard of production.
-
We work with artists who take print quality seriously - people who understand colour accuracy, paper choice, and the importance of a well‑produced print. We look for work that feels fresh, thoughtful, and not already available in New Zealand.
-
Not in the Print Shop. Our focus here is on bringing in work you can’t already find locally. If you’re looking to support New Zealand artists, we encourage you to explore local galleries and NZ‑based online print shops - and of course, our own gallery exhibitions, where we showcase and support local artists directly.
-
We only work with artists who take print production seriously — people who use reliable print partners, good papers, and consistent colour management. Print quality sits with them, but we’re selective about who we bring into the collection to ensure the standard stays high.
-
Most prints are offered in a small, accessible size (generally around A4) with a mat added to give the artwork presence and keep shipping affordable.
Some artworks are available from the artist in two sizes. For the Print Shop collection, we stock the smaller option to keep pricing and shipping manageable. If you’re interested in a larger size for a particular piece, get in touch and we can let you know whether that artwork is offered in a bigger format.
-
Our Print Shop is designed to make things simple: curated artwork, beautifully framed, and ready to hang the moment it arrives. By offering framed pieces only, we can control the presentation, protect the artwork, and ensure every print looks its best in your space.
Framing everything in‑house also keeps the quality consistent across the whole collection. Each piece is finished to a conservation standard using UV70 glazing and materials chosen to protect the artwork long‑term.
If the default frame isn’t your style, that’s no problem — we can custom frame any print to suit your home. Just get in touch and we’ll guide you through the options.
-
The Print Shop collection is framed-only. Each artwork is finished in-house so it arrives ready to hang, with consistent quality across the whole range.
If you’re after a different look, we can custom frame any piece to suit your space — just get in touch and we’ll talk through options.
FRAMING AND PRESENTATION
-
Framing is tailored to each artist drop. Every collection has its own look, and the frame style is chosen to suit the artwork — sometimes light and minimal, sometimes darker or more graphic. The goal is always the same: to present the work in a way that feels intentional and true to the artist’s aesthetic.
All framing is done in‑house to a conservation standard.
-
All framed prints come with UV70 glazing as standard. It offers excellent clarity and strong UV protection. If you prefer a different glazing option, get in touch - alternatives can be arranged, though UV70 remains our recommended choice.
-
Most pieces include a mat, but this can vary between artists. Some collections suit a clean, unmatted presentation; others benefit from the breathing room a mat provides. Each drop is designed as a cohesive set, so the presentation choices are made with the artwork in mind.
-
Yes. If the chosen frame for a particular artist drop isn’t your style, we can custom frame any print to suit your space. Just get in touch and we’ll talk through options.
-
Absolutely. If you have a specific frame style, mat size, or glazing preference in mind, we can customise the piece for you. Custom options may affect pricing and turnaround time, but we’ll guide you through everything before you commit.
-
Each piece arrives fully framed, glazed, and ready to hang. Because each artist drop has its own framing style, the presentation will reflect that collection — but the quality and finish are consistent across everything we produce.
